Jill Kirson-Tejumola: Career Statement
- DESIRES: I want people to have clarity and appreciate their unique strengths, values, and mission in life. I want to help people follow their path and understand that they can create their vision and live it. Working to assist my clients in finding innovative ways to achieve their goals and career dreams, while finding balance, joy, and meaning in their lives is what I desire.
- STRENGTHS: I have a unique talent for being both practical and idealistic at the same time. I love solving problems and analyzing everything. I have a unique ability to persuade and a gift for diplomacy.
- PERSONAL QUALITIES: I am an ENFJ—extroverted, intuitive, feeling, judger. I am here to help others and the most important element of my life is having meaningful and healthy relationships. I am artistic and creative and I think outside of the box and don’t believe one has to follow any particular path to get to where they want.
- ASSETS: I bring with me a Master and doctoral level degree in Counseling and a Master degree in International Development. Having a long career working in academic institutions, federal agencies and the private sector I also have experiential knowledge from a variety of working environments. Working as a recruiter and making hiring decisions is an asset to my work as a career counsellor. I am also certified to interpret Myers Briggs Type Indicator, Strong Interest Inventory and a Certified Career Coach. I am an active member of the Association for Career Professionals International.
- OTHER PEOPLE: I am the parent in a blended family of three boys-one of which lives with us full-time and the other two who come for holidays and summer vacations. My partner of the last eleven years and I enjoy exercise, soccer and travel together.
- POSSIBILITIES I’M CURIOUS ABOUT: As a life-long learner I am curious about completing my Ph.D. I have completed all of the requirements except for my dissertation and hope to return to it and complete it soon.
